I have the most awesome friends in all creation. They got me three awesome cross stitch books for my birthday.

http://www.amazon.com/Oriental-Cross-Stitch-Exquisite-Designs/dp/0715324705

http://www.amazon.com/Cross-Stitchers-Oriental-Odyssey/dp/0715319000

http://www.amazon.com/Better-Homes-Gardens-Stitch-Designs/dp/0696221535/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1271464002&sr=1-1

I've wanted the two Oriental ones for a while, esp, Oriental Odyssey. The patterns are GORGOUS.

Ah, those are cool! I've seen one of the Oriental decor themed books in a store before, but I usually end up getting the fantasy themed ones, instead- I'm a sucker for stitching fairies and mermaids. ^^;That would be a really cool gift, though.

Fantasy is nice too. I LOVE dragons.

Yeah, they are cool! I have one book called (I need to go check the title...) Magical Cross Stitch, and though it has possibly the oddest looking pegasus pattern I've ever seen, it has four really cool dragons in it, all of them really detailed. My favorite of them is probably the extremely self-explanatory Cross Stitch Fairies, though. D&C puts out some really neat pattern books.

I love to browse through books like that and think about the peope who stitched the example photos. I wonder how long it would take to do every design in that 2,001 book. A lifetime? ^^

Probably not, most of the stitches in there are pretty small. XD
