PostSubject: Bleach-- Favorite anime   Sat Aug 29, 2009 12:42 am

I tend to watch Bleach anime each week on the TV........
Now I want to stitch most the characters! I think I might do Renji next if I can find the perfect drawing that I can change into a pattern.

Renji would be really cool to cross stitch! The bright red would be fun to work with, and he's a spiffy character, too. I've always wanted to make Orihime, and there's one picture of her in an artbook that my dad got me for Christmas that I have my eye on for such a project. I haven't gotten around to making it, though, because I've been too lazy to make the pattern so far. ^^;

Orihime will be hard to do!! DMC doesn't have a huge collection of oranges!!
I really think they should come up with a special anime thread pack just to stitch anime with!!

My son likes Zaraki Kenpachi but there is alot of black in his hair and I'm not sure what it would look like to change it into a cross stitch.

hmm usually when stitching someone with black hair you have to use really dark grays and lighter blacks as accents so it doesn't look like a black spot with no definition. I have never attempted this myself but I have seen a few people do it.

Well, this is sort of specific, but in a lot of early to mid-90s fighting games, ones that use larger sprites, the black hair uses a navy to black fade that actually works really nicely- I think the colors used are usually 310, 939, and 820, with some brighter blues worked in if you want more detailed highlights. For girls, it's great, since it gives the sprite a very, "My hair is Pantene perfect!" shampoo commercial look, but I'm not sure if it would be as effective for guys, especially a character with a no-frills (at least in terms of physical vanity) appearance like Kenpachi. I think that there would have to be a set of grays at least as effective for a similar effect with less of a fresh-from-the-salon look, though. :S

There are lots of character from Bleach I can do!! My son also mentioned doing Ichigo -Hollow too. I think he just likes the most violent characters in Bleach....LOLOL
But first I have to finish the one I have first!! Then I can worry about doing another one!!

Bleach is AWESOME. For my best friend's birthday, I put one of little Mojo's Bleach patterns on a shirt for my friend. I put the Shinigami licence in red on a black shirt for her. I also put Ichigo's hollow mask on a bookmark for my older sister.

I should try stitching on a tshirt-- I have ALOT of waste canvas material that you pull out after you stitch
I'm just nervous about only stitching with one hand-- I'm really worried it might hurt my wrist again!!
Maybe I will try in the New Year..... just to make sure!!

I love using waste canvas. I've got an apron, a pair of jeans, a shirt for my neice, a shirt for my little sister, and my friend's shirt that i've done.

I use a circular loom to keep it on if its a bigger pattern, or just tape if its really small. once i have the outline of what i'm stitching in, if the pattern is small, i can remove the tape and finish.

How do you keep the aeda from coming off in the wash or rubbing on the persons skin when you stitch on clothing. Do you have the aeda on the outside of the cloths?

I use waste cloth. After you finish the stitch, you wet it down and pull the fibers of the waste cloth out. Its a pain in the neck, but its soooo worth it.

You should be able to. I get mine from Joanne Fabrics. I'm sure Michaels would have it too.

I'm still trying to figure out how waste cloth is called in my language I want to try stitching something on a T-shirt so badly! But I don't want to go again through a humiliation like when I first shop for knitting and stitching supplies...Evil or Very Mad The shop assistant looked like me like O.o while I was translating literally the terms or was asking for "that stuff you use to fill plushies'' >.<""""" so I'm doing a research first... but sometimes even granma can't understand what am I talking about. Gah, English influence can be so bad sometimes.

And thats what the picture looks like when you pull the waste canvas out. I did that for a p.j. pocket for a friend of mine. Miles Edgeworth (the Phoenix Wright games) p.j.'s for a p.j. party at JAcon.

Good job!! Smile
I had mis-stitched my "L" in a few spots!!! I'm not happy about it!! LOL!!
I guess when I pushed the needle through it went in an angle a bit--instead of going straight in.
I plan to practice more in the close future!! Smile

Thank you. I love you That wasn't my first project w/ waste canvas. My first one is a waist apron I put Mario Mushrooms and Mario himself on. I messed up Mario, but the 'shrooms came out beautifully. XD I also did the Shinigami licence on a shirt for a friend, that one was BIG and I had some trouble with it, I put Mario 'shrooms on shirts for both my little sister and my neice, and a chocobo on a pair of skorts for my neice, Yoshi eggs on a pair of my jeans, and now I'm working on the Bleach shirts. I LOVE useing waste canvas lol!

It was fun....... but I can't use it too often because it will hurt my wrist. I have stitched very little on my bleach Wip since I finished it. Just taking it easy for a bit!!
