I am super obsessed with Kairi from Kingdom Hearts. Out of every book, anime, or video game character she has always been the character I relate to the most. I would stitch almost anything that has Kairi in it or is Kingdom Hearts related. I really want to so something from The World Ends With You also. I love the characters in that game.

I wasn't the biggest fan ever of The World Ends With You, but the art in it was really cool and it would be really fun to stitch a character from that! It would be nifty to make a pattern of Shiki, since I haven't seen that many patterns incorporating stylish hats. ^^ For me, though, I think the ideal pattern would be a super detailed page from a manga, probably something by Ai Yazawa, with the text and lineart done in backstitch and the screentones stitched in different shades of gray. It would be really hard, but I think the finished product would be worth it.

TWEWY patterns would be so amazing. I would literally die if I could get my hands on some.
I would also love it if I could find Katekyo Hitman Reborn patterns. But I need to finish up my current project. It's so hard - after awhile they get boring and you want to start something new!

I'll see what I can do about the patterns that are wanted. I create any dream pattern I really want but I've always been a Riku fan and love doing them.

Really? I'm actually working on a Riku pattern right now! He's being a complete butthole though. I've been working on it on and off for the past two years now and maybe 75% done. I hate his hair though. There's just sooooo much!

I'm working on two Riku's right now and finished one. I'm quick at making the patterns with the programs I have.

Wow just imagining stitching a complete page from a manga is making my head hurt. I mean you would have to make it almost triple the size just to fit the text, and all of that gray would make my eyes pop right out of my head. But after it's finished it would look so amazing. It would have to be a really great page for me to do it.

I remember when I was working on my Sora cross stitch I almost gave up like 7 times. I would set it down and not pick it back up for months because I was so annoyed at it. Thats probably why it took me 3 years to finish. I found that watching TV or listening to a book on tape made time go by faster and stitching much more fun.

Of course a slight distraction always helps with X-stitching. Another trick I learned is to not care. The patterns will never be perfect so if you made a minor mistake that won't really ruin it but would take to long to fix, work around it no point wasting time just improvise your way around it and it'll still look good. I don't let patterns annoy me, but yes the gray of the manga would send me insane as well even when I'm laid back. I'd have to destroy the pattern while stitching it to make it work. Poke a hole in each stitch you do type of destroying.

Of course. I usually watch some old reruns while stitching. It's just rather annoying - I'm sewing the pattern onto a canvas bag, which is rather thick, so I'm slowly gaining sores on my thumbs. XD And god, that would suck, doing a manga page. I'll just take a pretty colored picture thanks!

I'm more of the sew it onto material and frame it type myself though I've often thought about doing a hoodie. My Mom used to do jackets, my Aunt did sweaters and my Grandma used to do quilts (Which my Dad stole from me even though it was the most amazing quilt ever but they got me a wolf blanket to replace it.) I normally watch movies when I stitch, my parents LOVE movies and thus my collection normally blows people away because there's so many and we're always adding more. I've even x-stitch while playing World of Warcraft in the past (I was a healer so no one really noticed when I didn't do anything as long as they were alive) Distractions are good.

I know what you mean. We've got a mini-Blockbuster here too. And I normally do it on the normal fabric, but I thought I'd change it up. Ugh...

My Mom used to always warn me that doing it on other material is amazingly hard. I figured once I'm done the current two projects I might try something weird like a pillow case.

Canvas bags are really difficult to work on, especially if you value not having holes in your thumbs, but if you get the colored canvas totes, they're actually really easy to stitch on! I used one for a Death Note bag and had it done within a weekend, with no major discomfort. T-shirt and tank top fabric is really easy to deal with, too. Canvas is a lot better to work on than denim, though. I stitched a Tiny Toons sprite on a denim bag once and didn't want to stitch again for days.

missy-tannenbaum did some shiki patterns that have just been uploaded to the site and they are beautiful. Thanks missy-tannenbaum totally made my day! I can't wait to finish my FFX Logo and stitch those.

What sort of pattern size are you looking for? I know Cartoon Network's website is really content heavy, including games and stuff like that, so there would have to be some nice source images there. Plus, from what I've seen in the ads, the characters have bold lines that would lend themselves well to a pattern at almost any size. (Then again, I haven't watched the show, so Chris could be a distressingly detailed character in the midst of a really cartoon-y landscape, making this entire theory totally off base... ^^; )

For size, I'd say no bigger than about three or three and a half inches. Shirt size XD. The animation on that show is pretty simple, so I'm willing to bet they'd make pretty good cross stitch patterns.

Do you think we could make patterns of dolls from e.g. Gaia dollmaker?

Yeah, of course! I've done patterns from Candybar dolls before, and they're a bit big, at 300+ stitches tall, and color intensive, too. Still, it is possible, and since Gaia avatars are smaller than Candybar dolls, I think that the patterns they'd make would be very nice! I'm not sure what the color count would be, but the size would probably be fairly reasonable.

I tried using my sons gaia sprites to cross stitch it does work when you import it. Just it comes up with alot of colours and its hard to edit some of them out without it looking silly!! Smile
